SUMMARY:BUGS Clothing & Food Drive!
DESCRIPTION:This Valentine’s Day\, show a little love to the homeless youth in Montreal ♥ ♥\nUp until Feb 14th\, BUGS will be collecting new or gently used clothing\, non-perishable food and gift cards\, or monetary donations to donate to the Montreal-based organization Dans la rue. \nContributors are encouraged to drop off physical donations during our BUGS office hours (McMmed 510\, Mon-Thu 10:30-1:30\, Fri 10:30-2:30). U-reps from each year will be making brief class announcements to collect monetary donations. Check out the Facebook event for more details and a list of recommended donation items!

DESCRIPTION:February 12th\, 2018\n5:30pm-6:30pm\nMcIntyre Medical Building\, Room 908 \n\nJournal Club is back again for the winter semester and this time we are starting with something different! For our first Journal Club\, we will be reading a paper on bioethics in research from The Hasting Center Report: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/hast.548/abstract \nIn addition\, this session of Journal Club will be lead by Kathy Li\, an undergraduate student in Biochemistry and Philosophy! This Journal club will have lots of captivating discussions and as always there will be snacks for everyone to enjoy during the event. \nIf you would like to learn something a little different from your typical biochemistry classes or would like to take a peek at different types of academic journals outside of biochemistry or life science research\, this journal club would be a great opportunity for you! So come out and join us! \nFor upcoming journal clubs (March 1st) we will be returning to reading scientific research papers in the field of biochemistry so stay tuned for more information!
