If you are interested in contributing to our student community or taking on a leadership role in the biochemistry department, we encourage you to join BUGS!!
We form our new council each Winter semester for the following academic year, with both elected and appointed positions.
- Elected Positions include: President, VP Internal, VP External, VP Communications, VP Social, U2 Representatives (x2), U3 Representatives (x2)
- Appointed Positions include: IHI Representative, VP Finance, VP Design, Director of Student Affairs, Director of Academic Affairs, Director of Charity and Fundraising
- Additional positions appointed in September of the following academic year: U1 Representatives (x2), School of Biomedical Sciences (SBMS) Undergraduate Representative
Join BUGS Council 2025-2026!
Anyone interested in running for an elected position must first complete a nomination form. The Nomination/Campaign Period lasts from February 1st 2025 to March 5th 2025 (deadline to submit nomination form). All information about available positions and submission details can be found here:
The Voting Period lasts from March 10th to March 17th 2025. Election results will be posted here on our website.
The Appointed positions package will be opened on March 12th 2025, and the deadline for application is March 21st 2025.
We highly encourage all interested candidates to carefully read our constitution for election processes, candidate requirements and portfolio of each candidates position.
