The Note Takers Club (NTCs) are comprehensive notes prepared for Biochemistry courses by groups of students managed by BUGS. There are writers who assemble notes based on class material, editors who proof-read the notes, and coordinators who ensure everything is printed and delivered to the students. NTCs cost $40 covering the whole semester’s lectures and lecture sets (usually containing three lectures) are released each week. These have proven to serve as a great study aid to many students at McGill, and we have years of experience on our side. Anyone can sign up for writer/editor positions as long as they’re registered in the class, these job postings will be announced at the beginning of the semester. For those interested in buying NTCs, pass by our office and we’ll sign you up! We also offer review packs for some courses which have no NTC programs. Please bring exact change if you plan on buying anything.
For any questions, or applications to be a writer at the beginning of the semester, contact your Urep!

The Biochemistry Undergraduate Mentoring Program pairs students in U1 and U2 with a U3 student who serves as a mentor throughout the year. Keen U2s also have the option to mentor a U1. The BUMP program encourages both 1-on-1 contact and hosts several low-key group events all year round to promote mentor-mentee communication and bonding. Past activities have included movie nights, coffee “dates”, study sessions, and dinner outings.
To sign up as a mentor or mentee, or if you have questions or concerns, please email Riley Bowker, Director of Academic Affairs, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Journal Club is for people who are interested in discussing current research with peers, or those who just want to get into reading scientific literature.
